Never mind, I finally got round to be able to format my Samsung SSD as xfs cache disk. Thanks.

Since the time of last post, I have tried to format the SSD disk and have not been successful. So I swapped the SATA cable, which still did not allow me to format the cache disk. I also deleted the existing cache pool, and recreated a new pool from scratch. It did not allow me to format the disk. I have tried to format the disk in xfs, btfrs, and zfs, all without any joy. I also swapped the SATA disk itself with a brand new SSD disk, which also gives the same error, and cannot be formatted and added to the cache pool. Would it be better to reformat it with zfs ?

Hi, I am facing some issues since last Sunday, when my server had an unplanned power loss. Since bootup, my cache disk is having issues, and what seems like, it is stuck in read-only mode (my guess based on its behaviour). My dockers could not write to appdata folder (hosted on cache disk), and upon enabling/disabling the dockers, most of the dockers are now unable to even start. Same for the VM. My server had an unclean shutdown due to power loss on Sunday just gone, and I have noticed that my cache disk (Samsung 500GB 2.5" disk) is now being reported as read only. I have a single Cache drive. The server did run an automated disk parity check after unclean shutdown, which reported 0 errors. I have also run the disk check, which has returned 0 errors. The cache disk is plugged into the HBA card in IT mode, and I have swapped the data interface to a different port for bypassing any issues. But nothing has helped so far. Since my cache disk and shared are being reporting as read only, I have stopped/started the array, rebooted the server and the dockers/VMs and the error does not seem to be going away. The dockers and VM cannot write to the shar or storage. I have shutdown the dockers and VMs now, as they are functioning correctly, due to the storage being read only. I was thinking about getting a new cache disk, but I am not convinced if the SSD drive is the issue here, as there are no disk issues being reported. Can you please advise, where shall I start to look at ? Cheers.

Makes sense. I already ran a backup job on a running docker without verification. The backup completed without verification.

After the latest update, I have enabled the option to "Ignore errors during backup?", and tried to run a backup without shutting down Pi-Hole docker for testing. However, the plugin is still throwing an error. Any idea why ? Guessing I need to disable verification as well, in order to make use of the new feature? I will just add this here, and hopefully this scenario will make sense for all. Out of the box, the plugin stops all dockers before making a backup. "Not" stopping a docker before backup is an advanced feature as it stands. The user has to click and show the advanced functionality. And the average user will more than likely not unhide advanced options and thus less likely to change this behaviour. Its most likely that only an advanced user will tinker with the option to "not" stop a docker, and should they decide to let a docker run while a backup is being created, they should know that the backups "can" be useless, if the docker has not been stopped before the backup has been created.

Agree that option to supress error about changing files would be awesome.

Seems very harsh. One would imagine all Internet services were being shut down at "night" for their backup jobs to run. 😉

This is my scenario as well. I have been forced to turn off my dockers for the duration of backup job, which takes my Internet down for atleast 30 minutes. I would love to see a fix for this.
