Mihle
So I just got two SSDs for cache and set it to move a share and stuff to the cache and started the mover, Why is it just moving things on array with 16 MB/s? well, it was fast for a short while and then slowed down a lot. EDIT: it became little bit faster now for a while before it slowed down, is it because it might be some folders with many small files? Edited January 24, 2021 by Mihle Quote Link to comment
Mihle
Unrelated: how often should TRIM run on the SSDs? Also, any tips to how I optimize how few times things have to access an array disk, or HDD head movement if you will? like maybe disk index on cache or something? John_M
It's difficult to say, really. Your diagnostics might reveal an underlying problem or maybe you really are moving a lot of small files, in which case 16 MB/s is not unexpected. I trim mine once a day but there's no hard and fast rule. Quote Link to comment

When you move folder with the same files I did between drives in windows for example, it does it faster than what the mover do. For example, Windows would do 60-140 MB/s on the same files, but the mover in unraid did 16 MB/s? Another question btw: Its fine having non appdata or new data on the cache at all times if you have two cache drives for safety? Edited January 30, 2021 by Mihle Quote Link to comment
