Randomstingray
Hi All, I have got all the parts for my unraid build apart from the HBS LSI card I ordered for my HDDs. My question being.... Can I start the parity drive build (As I know this can take a while < 6-12 hours.) using the onboard SATA connector? and once the HBA card has arrived swap over the parity drive and any other data drives over to the HBA? Or will this cause weird issues within UnRaid and be best to just wait and install it on the HBA from the start? Thanks, Chay Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
It's fine unless it's a RAID controller. Quote Link to comment
Randomstingray
thank you Jorge good to know! Will unraid just redirect to the new connection via the HBA card due tio the hard drive serial etc? Thanks Quote Link to comment
ChatNoir
Yes, Unraid identifies Disks by their S/N. Unless there is an issue with the HBA, there will be no difference for the Array. Disks might change sdX identifier ? Quote Link to comment
