[6.9.0] 100% CPU and RAM Spikes

Featured Replies

Hi there,

Quite happy user now for about 5-6 months with Unraid, after moving from a Ubuntu server. I do have on teething issue left however which still puzzles me and I hope someone can point me in the right direction for further troubleshooting.

Every now and then, the CPU and RAM spike to 100% usage. This normally results in my Home Assistant VM crashing and all Docker containers being unresponsive. After 5-10 minutes it seems to sort itself out and returns to normal. This happens regularly (weekly) but not on very specific intervals.

The relevant system specs:

- Intel® Core™ i5-4690K CPU @ 3.50GHz

- 24GB DDR3 RAM

I've attached the diagnostics reports.

Anyone could point me to some directions I could look at?

Thanks!

Nobody?

It would look like when this happens is that your system is running out of memory, and it kills off some processes (in the case in the syslog, it killed your VM).  What you've got to do is figure out what else is happening in the system when this goes on.  Perhaps limit the memory allowed to any and all the other docker apps present.
