dertbv Posted April 30, 2021 Posted April 30, 2021 So i made a stupid mistake deleting the file and lost all of my VM's, I still have the img files and am looking for a way to import them back in? Is this possible? I have tried to setup a few by choosing the appropriate osx and make the changes in the gui, linking the img file as the hard drive. However i a start shell screen when i launch them. Any ideas? Quote
Squid Posted April 30, 2021 Posted April 30, 2021 If you were running the appdata backup plugin with the libvirt backup option enabled, there's a copy in your backup share Quote

It looks like it is the only file that i do not have a back up of. :( Back up the usb once a day but not that file DOH! Quote
Squid Posted April 30, 2021 Posted April 30, 2021 I think (at least in theory) you would create a new VM (with the same settings etc as the old VM), but point it at the existing vdisks. Never had to do it though. Quote
dertbv Posted April 30, 2021 Author Posted April 30, 2021 I have tried to set them up the same way but no such luck they will not start. I have created a new one it starts fine, but if i point it to the old img it Quote
dertbv Posted April 30, 2021 Author Posted April 30, 2021 Going to answer my own question. It appears that I had to choose the Seabios from the windows plavor on drop down. This resolved my linus vm's and windows. see this page for info.. Quote
