I have used all of the SATA ports, and i connect my spare NVME drive to the slot i will lose 2 sata ports on the motherboard. I am ordering a PCIe 3.0 (PEX4M2E1) NVME PCIe M.2 Adapter https://www.startech.com/en-us/hdd/pex4m2e1 I know i am going to need to upgrade my license to move beyond 6 drives. But before I buy the upgrade license i want to make sure that this card will work with Unraid. Has anyone done something similar, are these generic cards that would have linux/unraid support? tjb_altf4 Posted May 6, 2021 Share Posted May 6, 2021 That will work, all that card does is pass the lanes to the nvme, so as far as your system is concerned it is directly connected. I've run a single nvme adaptor like this one in the past and it worked well. Quote Link to comment
