[SOLVED] 2 disks failed after electrical shutdown …

Hello, 

after a electric shutdown, I have got to crash on my HDDs. 
i m not sure what can I do, If I have to format the two disk and install them again on the array or not ? 
(I have two parity disks  and I don t want to lose anything 😬)

Formatting is never part of a rebuild/data recovery, the disks looks fine, first thing to do is to fix the filesystem on both emulated disks:

Run it again without -n or nothing will be done, if it asks for -L use it.

In red is normal since they will still be disable, unmountable not, post new diags after array start.

What is not working? Disk are now mounting, they weren't before, they are still disable, that is expected, you need to rebuild them to fix that, but first they have to mount and show the correct data.

What issue - the disks being unmountable or disabled?    These two states require different recovery actions.    From the previous posts it sounds as if only the ones for the unmountable states have been done and clearing the disables states (which require rebuilds) is still outstanding.

No, you need to rebuild them:

You can do both at the same time.

I still have a problem I can t see what there is on the DISK 5
'' NOT LISTING TOO MANY FILES ''

What can I do ?

There are several ATA errors on disk3, check/replace cables.

 

Disks 1 and 5 are still showing filesystem corruption, run xfs_repair without -n.

I did everything you advise, I also change the cable. Now everything is looking ok but I lost many movies on my library Plex ( around 450 movies lost) 

I don t understand why ... 

I thing I lost files from disk 5 it was quiet full, and now is almost empty after the re building

 

How it s possible?

It's showing at 30% used, so it wasn't formatted, could be the result of filesystem corruption, check the lost+found folder, there could be something there.

yes there are many files and movies in the folder lost and found. 

Before the hard drive crash the disk 5 has 210 GB left, Today 4.20TB, I don t get where is the reste of the files ?

 

 

what can I do ? Do I need to copy them in the right folder manually ? One by one 😅? 

 

 

Maybe is a stupid question, but if I remove disk 5, I format it, them I can re build it using the two parity hard drive and get back my missing files?

Likely gone, the result of the filesystem corruption.

No, it would rebuild the same contents as now, parity can't help with filesystem corruption, also you should always have backups of anything important.

ok so I have to copy past the files, open each folder so it s like impossible because of the number of files ...

That's not unusual for files than end up on lost+found, you need to check one by one and rename.
