silajim
So, I want to build a nas using unraid and I am in the planning phase. The Question is as follows, Can I put 2x8TB drives start adding data and when my 10TB drive empties add it as a parity drive? How would it work if I added a 16TB drive and a 10TB parity? I recall reading somewhere that the 16TB would be limited to 10TB, is it still true? I have a 3TB, 4TB and 10TB drives with data on my pc and I am trying to figure out how to expand (>10TB) and add a parity drive without buying over a 1000 euros of HDD's... trurl
You can add parity later. No data drive can be larger than any parity drive. Quote Link to comment
