rtinker
Let me know if this is not the right forum section please.... Got a new server that is bigger iron than what I had but at least I can rack mount it now... It came with SCSI drives which I sadly had to remove because I did not want to lose my nice UnRAID environment, so I removed them and put all of my SATA drives from my UnRAID server in it. Upon boot up, I discovered it was a RAID controller (I should have known) and it does see all of my SATA drives just fine, but the controller will not pass on the SATA drives "as is" so UnRAID can manage them. It wants me to create an array and a virtual drive, which I am pretty sure will wipe out everything on those drives... The controller is an LSI Logic / Symbios Logic MegaRAID SAS 2108 [Liberator] Rev 05. Anybody have any advice for getting out of this pickle? I am going to see what the integrated SATA controller has for connections whether it uses the same backplane as the RAID controller... Thanks Quote Link to comment
ChatNoir
I splitted this to the proper subforum. Change the title if you feel like it. Quote Link to comment
