JamesAdams
Hi, I just added new disks to my server, via a sata card ASM1166 And i have a lot of error : udma crc error count Now on one disque i have this message : DEVICE IS DISABLED, CONTENTS EMULATED. So, i have follow this method And now my parity are rebuild : And during parity I continue to have the same error message more this one What do you think I should do? For information I have a sas card (Sas9211-8i) that I can use instead of the sata card (I guess the problem comes from the sata card) Thanks for the help! JamesAdams
Is there a risk of data loss, if I stop the server during the rebuild of the array to replace the sata card by the sas card? Edited April 22, 2022 by JamesAdams Quote Link to comment

Solution JorgeB Posted April 22, 2022 Solution Share Posted April 22, 2022 That controller uses SATA port multipliers, those are not recommended, you can cancel the rebuild, replace the controller then re-start rebuilding the disable disk. Quote Link to comment

Ok, so no worries canceling the rebuild and replacing the sata card with my sas card now, sure? Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
Yes, assuming it's a HBA, not a RAID controller. Quote Link to comment

JorgeB
Depends on the flashed firmware, there's IT and RAID mode, though these usually still work even in RAID mode, but IT is still recommended. Quote Link to comment
