Hello all,

I just got my unraid server back up and running after a few years of collecting dust. I am trying to learn and do more with my unraid server so I am learning about dockers and plugins. I have had my unraid since 2010 and recently updated MB and replaced Some HD’s and a new controller. I have we drives in my system with 28TB available and 8TB om movies and 1TB in music and pics.

I installed My Server and thought I configured it correctly, but I am not connecting to the Mothership. What info do you need from me?  I attached my diagnostic file.

thanks in advance

There are a couple of ways to interpret this. Can you show screenshots?

Please open a web terminal and run:

unraid-api restart

Also, show me the output of this command:

ls -al /boot/config/plugins/dynamix.my.servers/

I want to make sure the installation files were downloaded properly.

By not connecting o MotherShip, I have a triangle with a ! and in the forum, Server shows Offline.

Here are the comand lines

root@Tower:~# unraid-api restart
Found no running processes.

/usr/local/bin/unraid-api/build/libvirt.node: file too short

root@Tower:~# ls -al /boot/config/plugins/dynamix.my.servers/

This file is corrupted, it is zero bytes:

  -rw-------  1 root root        0 Jun 25 23:39 libvirt.node

The next version of the plugin will detect this and resolve it automatically, but for now please:

1) uninstall the My Servers plugin

2) open a web terminal and run:

rm /boot/config/plugins/dynamix.my.servers/libvirt.node

3) install the My Servers plugin

Basically, we are deleting the bad file and reinstalling to get a good copy of the file.

I did notice that the local access is unlocked and is red. Is that normal?  Also I noticed that I am not able to access locally. I am able only access unraid via webgui. I am not able to access via iPad or phone. I used to be able to access by entering 192.168.1.12. But now it will not load.. Could I have done something wrong when i setup the router?

I think you are referring to the My Servers Dashboard:

  https://forums.unraid.net/my-servers/

An "unlocked" icon means the server can be accessed via http but not a secure https connection.

I am very confused about all of that :) What url are you using to access the webgui?

If you use http://ipaddress the webgui should load. Unless your IP address has changed?  or maybe you are using https instead of http?

Please download your diagnostics.zip file (from Tools -> Diagnostics) and attach it to your next post in this thread.

In Network setting the the IPv4 address is the 192.168.1.12 then a /24/  I am on the FireFox WebGUI, but I am not able to attache the diagnostic file from server.  When I hover over the Choose file, I am not able to navigate to find file on on the unraid server

I also noticed that the address for webgui is localhost:3443 not the 192.168.1.12

OK you have the server booted in GUI mode and are accessing the webgui using the built-in Firefox via http://localhost:3443

Based on that url, that means that on Settings -> Management Access, you have the "HTTP port" set to 3443. So to access the webgui via IP address you would use:

  http://[ipaddress]:3443

But you also need to be sure you are using the correct IP address. Hover over the system name (Tower) in the upper right corner of the webgui to see the IP address.

(BTW, I do see that you uploaded diagnostics earlier, but they seem to be out of date as they say the system is using the default port of 80 not 3443)

Ok now, we had a power outage so I had to restart the server. Does the communication with the mothership not happen while the server is checking parity?  Tower is show a triangle with an ! After the server has been on. My Server on the forum has a green check mark even though the server is showing triangle.

is this normal?

Ok I had to go to the my servers info and allow access and the ! Triangle is gone.

I don't know what this means, but I'm glad it is working :)

I am curious, why did you change the http port from the default of 80 to 3443? If you go to Settings -> Management Access and change the http port back to 80, then you can do this:

  http://[ipaddress]

instead of this:

  http://[ipaddress]:3443

But if you are happy with how it is working that is fine. You'll just need to remember to always add the http port to your http urls

Maybe I misunderstood when I was configuring MyServers, I thought that is what I needed to do.  I can change it back.  I know about enough about these things to keep me in trouble..  One thing I notices is that last night I had connection to mothership and I was able to watch a movie.  This morning I tried to access a movie on Plex and I did not have access.  Is there a setting to always be connected? Does the server connection sleep after no activity.  Any ideas as to why the connection would go away?

Thanks

The connection to My Servers is meant to be always on. However, that connection has nothing at all to do with your connection to Plex, they are completely unrelated.
