lcadmedia
Hi, I've been trying to troubleshoot my unraid server where it randomly goes offline after hours of idle. I usually test it in the morning after leaving it on overnight idle. My specs: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/jjVK78 I've already tried disabling C-State, Set PSU to typical current, lowered RAM Frequency to 2933Mhz. Also, memtest option on the unraid flash drive doesn't seem to work, it auto reboots after loading. I've also attached the diagnostics. Anyone have any idea and/or care to help? kbnomadserver-diagnostics-20220630-0903.zip Quote Link to comment

mathomas3
What is this 'server'?? you have 2 500gb m.2 drives attached... This is a gaming rig more then anything... If you are using unraid as the host OS... why? Quote Link to comment

This is normal if you boot in UEFI mode as the version bundled with Unraid only works with legacy boot. If you want a version that works with UEFI boot (or if you have EEC RAM) then you can download it from memtest86.com. Quote Link to comment

I mean the PC is still on, just not accessible anymore, and i've tried pinging the IP address but "Request timeout for icmp_seq 0"; so have to hard reboot when that happens. Quote Link to comment

I rarely play games now, I only play Dota 2 now-a-days. and I wanted to run macOS 12.4 (and Win11) since most of my devices are apple and I edit on FInal Cut Pro X. both 500gb are not m.2 but SATA SSD which are currently in the array. WD Gold HDD is still in transit to be set as parity drive. I have 2 NVME but they're passed through for macOS and win11 vm each. Edited June 30, 2022 by kbnomad Quote Link to comment

mathomas3
As a first thing that I would do... reset the bios to factory settings... this feels like a power save setting of sorts... When the system does become unresponsive have tried to access the console physically? Quote Link to comment

I know but is that relevant to the server disconnecting or maybe crashing? I have WD Gold coming as I just recently switched to unraid plan on using the SSD's for cache. Quote Link to comment

In order to get MacOS to run on this hardware, I would assume that you had to make a number of modifications to get it to run, could you explain what changes those might have been Quote Link to comment

I dont have any freeze/crash issues when a VM is running. someone pointed out on Reddit's Unraid forum that it may be one of the docker(s) using br0 network on 6.10.x which I do have a docker (hide_me_privoxy VPN docker) running. So I may disable that and monitor the server being idle for a day or 2 if that fixes it. Edited June 30, 2022 by kbnomad Quote Link to comment
