Flyk3
Hi, I have a 15 disk pool with Unraid 6.10.3 on GIGABYTE C246M-WU4 with Intel Xeon E-2246G and 32GiB ECC RAM. I first copied everything to the server before creating the parity disk. This was probably a big mistake. Since this morning I can't access a disc anymore and the log says the following: Sep 11 13:21:01 Server kernel: ata8.00: error: { ABRT } Sep 11 13:21:01 Server kernel: ata8.00: configured for UDMA/133 (device error ignored) Sep 11 13:21:01 Server kernel: sd 9:0:0:0: [sdi] tag#10 UNKNOWN(0x2003) Result: hostbyte=0x00 driverbyte=DRIVER_OK cmd_age=0s Sep 11 13:21:01 Server kernel: sd 9:0:0:0: [sdi] tag#10 Sense Key : 0x5 [current] Sep 11 13:21:01 Server kernel: sd 9:0:0:0: [sdi] tag#10 ASC=0x21 ASCQ=0x4 Sep 11 13:21:01 Server kernel: sd 9:0:0:0: [sdi] tag#10 CDB: opcode=0x28 28 00 00 7b 70 84 00 00 04 00 Sep 11 13:21:01 Server kernel: blk_update_request: I/O error, dev sdi, sector 8089732 op 0x0:(READ) flags 0x0 phys_seg 2 prio class 0 Sep 11 13:21:01 Server kernel: Buffer I/O error on dev sdi, logical block 4044866, async page read Sep 11 13:21:01 Server kernel: Buffer I/O error on dev sdi, logical block 4044867, async page read I also can't start the array anymore because this disc is missing. I have already changed the cables and have restarted the server. Can I maybe repair the disc with xfs_repair? If yes, how? I can not start the array in Maintenance mode. JorgeB
You can try swapping cables to confirm but it looks like a disk problem, not even generating a valid SMART report. Quote Link to comment
Flyk3
I replaced the cables and and also connected them to another controller. Without success. So stupid. Have waited all this time with the parity disk, because I gradually copied the data from the old server over and moved the disks one by one. I even precleared the moved hard drives, with no errors. Anyway, any tips to recover the data? Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
You can try ddrescue but it doesn't look very good. 1 Quote Link to comment
Flyk3
Thank you for your support! I will try it after the parity is completely synced 🙂 Quote Link to comment
