ZiemaF
Hi everyone. I am now facing a specific task, I have to move my server to a new location. Unfortunately, for some time I will not be able to connect it to the switch via the cable. The motherboard has WiFi and I would like to connect the server now. Is it possible? Even how to do it and how to prepare for it? My motherboard is Gigabyte Z370N WIFI (rev. 1.0), WiFi is Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265 module (recognized by UNRAID). I would like to point out that the performance of the WiFi module for my home use is absolutely sufficient. Thank you in advance for any suggestions Quote Link to comment
Solution JorgeB Posted September 26, 2022 Solution Share Posted September 26, 2022 Unraid doesn't support WiFi but you can get a WiFi client AP with Ethernet ports that you can then connect to the wired NIC. Quote Link to comment
ZiemaF
Not a nice solution, but it may be less emergency. And in the event of a breakdown, they can be easily repaired. Thank you! 1 Quote Link to comment
Frank1940
Another option to to have a look at flat cat5/6 cable. This stuff is much easier to temporarily run through living spaces as its flat profile means it can run under carpet without creating a massive bulge. Quote Link to comment
