Cannot Install Windows 11 VM due to W11 not Recognizing Connection

Featured Replies

Hey,

I am new to UNRaid and VMs and am trying to set up a Windows 11 VM after successfully setting up a Windows 10 VM.

I loaded the official Windows 11 ISO along with virtio-win-0.1.229-1.iso and made it to the setup screen where Windows 11 requires an internet connection to move on. The video I watched online showed that version of Windows 11 had an option to proceed without an internet connection, but that option is not available on mine.

I believe I have to set up the virtual driver to establish a network connection, but I can't do that without getting into Windows first.  Any advice?

My network source is "br0" and my network model is "virtio-net", the same I used for the Windows 10 machine.

Try using E1000 instead as the driver in the template.

Perfect!  That fixed it.  I love this forum.  Thank you so much!

I did this but now transfers are limited to 1 Gbps. Is there a way to revert this to virtio-net afterwards (and still work)? When I changed to virtio, Windows complaints it doesn't have a network card ><"
