Image updated to 30.0.5

@terratrax - Thanks a bunch for pulling this together.  After running the Linuxserver container for about 3-4 years I've started playing more with recognition, and meeting the requirements was a challenge.  I tried about 3 other containers that all presented issues to me (to be fair I was using my existing Mariadb database).  I didn't try yours because I saw in the info it says Version 27, and I decided no way am I going to use something almost 4 major revs back.  Then I jumped in here today to look for tips to fix the others and noticed you'd updated to v30.  I jumped in, fresh database and all and things are looking very good.

Maybe you should update the Community App description? :)  I think it would  help a ton more people that way.  Cheers!

Glad to hear it! I can't speak to the HDR function unfortunately. I don't write the code for memories, just providing the libraries it needs.

No nvenc or vaapi, just CPU support.  Passing the hardware for acceleration can be tricky and isn't that useful beyond the initial scan.  On my 12400K server it scanned 20K files and 18000 faces overn

The git repo with the description has been updated, but I have no idea how often the unraid site polls it for updates. :/

I would be interested in how you migrated over. I have been on LinuxServer's build for a while and want to get to use facial recognition which he does not support. Wondering how you migrated.

Honestly, compared to my overall files library my Nextcloud footprint is pretty small.  It is my family's "private cloud" for sharing controlled documents like medical, passport, and other info as well as quick notes and temporary files between media servers and such.  I will soon start using it much for for the photos stuff I referenced.

In my case, I just installed the container parallel to the existing LS instance so that I could feel comfortable about a fallback and to make referencing config stuff easy.  The new install had a new database container as well.  Then I just manually moved the files in for each user and the shares.  It was very straightfoward and completed pretty quickly.  Definitely more work than one would like to do, but I wanted to be closer to be closer to the officially supported image and have support for those additional face recognition and other libraries.  I've been on the other images for years, and I expect I won't have to do this again for many years.  Something better than Nextcloud may come along by then - who knows?

So far I am able to get my new NextCloud-Multimedia instance spun up and seems to be working mostly.

With a GTX1660ti nvidia card, my nextcloud gives me a warning....

How do I get my GPU to load properly?  .... or possibly mine doesn't support the requirements either.

I have passed my GPU to the container just as I did with my Plex container.

Regarding GPU support it is not built into this image as this is quite a bit more involved than just updating the docker image (there are things you would need to do on the host). Honestly however there is not much benefit - yes memories can take a little longer to index the first time around but after that the CPU should be able to keep things up to date without any lag.

The latest tag has been updated to Nextcloud 31.0.4. You can also use the tag 31.0.4-apache if you don't want to automatically get updates.

How to disable Maintenance Mode via Console here?

Hi Saarlaender - I'm not sure I understand your question but the best place for these types of questions in probably in the main Nextcloud support thread. This image is basically the stock image with some libraries added to support Memories; everything else is untouched.

Hello!

I tried to upgrade to version 31, in the end the image does not start and the log says

Initialising nextcloud 31.0.4.1 ...
Can't start Nextcloud because upgrading from 29.0.4.1 to 31.0.4.1 is not supported.

where can I find the intermediate version (30)?

Upd: I used the latest tag and docker started. but the question of upgrading to the latest version is relevant, because the server displays Nextcloud Hub 8 (29.0.4).

Edited by OldeFortran

Since this image doesn't keep older tags try to either temporarily use nextcloud:30 as repository, run it so the data gets updated to 30 (check logs to see when it's done), then switch back and it'll get updated again to 31. Take appdata / DB backups before each step just in case.

Alternatively use my image, I do follow releases pretty closely and keep the latest version of each branch available.

Yep this will work - or you can use the :testing tag which will be version 30 in this case. Going forward, each new version has its own unique tag so you should be able to upgrade in sequence.

If you are using :latest and your version is still showing 29, my guess is that unraid has not pulled the latest image and you might need to check it manually.
