swamiforlife
I have an existing Unraid array with dual parity and 28 data disks. I am going to use the new config tool to replace the dual parity disks with larger ones and change 4 data disks to larger ones. With the new config tool the parity will be rebuilt. So will the array be usable during this parity rebuild process? Also will i we able to use my existing virtual machines during the rebuild? Quote Link to comment
Nexius2
Great question same conf on my side and about to do the same thing. what I have tested for know: - stop array - remove parity dsk 1 - start array - stop array - add parity disk 1 - start array My array is encrypted so it might be the cause (or the parity disk 2 but I doubt), but while rebuilt, the shares are not mounted so array not usable. if you find a way to keep the array usable (and VM and Docker) while rebuild / add parity, I'll take it Quote Link to comment

Yes. 5 hours ago, swamiforlife said: Also will i we able to use my existing virtual machines during the rebuild? Yes, but ideally they will be on a pool, array performance will be degraded during the sync. Quote Link to comment

yaksnip
I was messing with the settings too playing around with tailscale and now im stuck with the wrong ip and sub net. i have tired deleting the network.cfg file on reboot it goes to the tailscale ip . tired a new eth card and network.cfg file with the ip and sub that i need but still no luck. l've got the right ip and sub and gateway in there but can not see it on my network. l can see the server running in the gui thats all i can do thanks yak.
