Every year, I'm back at this same situation, on each Unraid nas, with workarounds and bs excuses as an answer.

Again, looking for scattered answers & community suggestions, while this design is obviously flawed. Easily measured by the number of forum posts with questions about this.

My point is that there's something off with the caching system.

Me doin the IT-crowd test (rebooting), after a descrepancy of 70 GB for over a week on 'deleted files' hoping that it would clear the cache, kinda annoys me.

I assume cache if btrfs? If so du isn't reliable with btrfs, it's not an Unraid issue.
