Ive noticed that the SM container takes up all the RAM on my machine (62gb). Looking at docker stats SM starts gradually eating ram until the machine crashes. Am i the only one? Anyway to resolve this.

Hello Everyone,

I'm having trouble getting this docker working.

I can add EPG&M3U, but then I cannot synch it with Plex.

I also see following error:

couldn't find handler for /lineup_status.json

couldn't find handler for /discover.json

I've tried with the image channels and with the image current, both have the same problem apparently.

The current version seems to be stabled (with the synch) than the channel one (which has a totally different UI, and it hangs itself after a couple of hours)

Anyone experienced the same issue?

I am having the same issue. It slowly eats up all my ram then crashes the dock. 384Gb ram total. This sucks because this actually works really well in plex, emby and jellyfin until this happens. Does anyone have a solution or suggestion?

Yup same issue here, are you guys also using SD ?
First it used to crash my whole unraid server, now i limited the memory but after 20 min it still crashes the container ... Any luck anyone ?

I've tried it off and on, but there is a much better "Channels" version that they makes changes to sometimes and it wipes out my settings.  I wish Senex, the developer, would open it up and let a lot of contributors move it along faster because it has tremendous potential.  I'd even pay something reasonable as a one-time supporter contribution, but seems like he wants to keep it as a mostly personal project.

How do I fix missing channel logos?

I just installed this container. When I try to open the web ui it asks for password. The settings.json in the config directory has admin user and password set to blank value and also has "AuthenticationMethod": "None".

Any idea why it asks for login and also what are the default credentials? I tried sm with sm, sm123, etc but none of them work.

Hey, anyone know how to reset my login or password ? Thx

Hey guys, is there a new link for the discord? Both i've found have said invalid link...

This is for the new Falcon Player docker that apparently does not have its own forum yet...

Trying to figure out if it works in bridge mode without having a dedicated IP address. I can access it fine, but xLights struggles with being able to talk to it if it can even discover it. Is there a defined method for setting up the docker so that it can be discovered by xLights and uploaded to?

The founder announced yesterday (or 2 days ago) that he was pulling the plug on the entire project unfortunately.

Founder took his ball and went home. When he shutdown the Github without notice and then started calling other projects out it seemed the temperamental writing was on the wall.  Shame.  It was not well managed, but definitely had some great potential.

So are there any alternatives worth looking into? I've seen some prosjects pop up in the last months..

Yeah, you're probably seeing the same ones. Before Streammaster I guess Threadfin was the most promising because it is still being developed, though I found it way more difficult to use than it should be. SM was very good as a proxy and the stream balancing was good, like Threadfin's - maybe better.  As a hardware and software product manager earlier in my career, I'll say the UX of SM was far superior, though it still had a number of design issues, IMHO. The user, MrM0nday, who apparently helped with this much improved UX apparently went off months  ago and started building a similar app called AIPTV.  Here's the deal - apparently it was effectively all AI-coded, and when it rapidly started closing the gap with SM some hurt feelings surfaced. They were both pulled within 24 hours of each other.

I mention the above for some context, but also to note how quickly new projects may evolve.  Here's one that I've started watching, though I've not yet run it through its paces: https://github.com/sonroyaalmerol/m3u-stream-merger-proxy

We should all let this group know if something promising emerges!

Thanks for the good write up! Dev's getting hurt by people using their open source... Isn't that the part of open source, to be able to use each others code?

Well not for me to judge anyway, I have my thoughts..

Thank you for these explanations, I didn't understand why these applications had disappeared.

I will keep AIPTV safe then, because this tool is really great.
