MonkeyAdminOnKeyboard
The Problem is, this server is new. unRaid new installed. Only some plugins are installed. no docker no vms at the moment. befor the Array HDD starts read so much i fineshed a copy process from Windows to unraid Share.. it was round about 1.6 TB. EDIT: In safemode and array is startet. there is no read process... i dont understand this... where is the problem Edited January 14 by MonkeyAdminOnKeyboard Boot into safemod Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
Reboot in normal mode and leave services disabled, if still no reads is rules out any plugins, so start enabling the services and containers one by one. Quote Link to comment
Solution MAM59 Posted January 14 Solution Share Posted January 14 (edited) he used zfs on the array... that should explain everything! BAD MISTAKE!!! (ZFS + Parity do not go well together, zfs tends to "optimize" during free time and parity needs to be updated all the time, this slows things down to the knees... ) (this is overkill! UNRAID Parity + zfs mirror. Get rid of one of them ASAP!) Edited January 14 by MAM59 Quote Link to comment

No. Parity only works at the block level and does not understand file systems. You would have to copy the data elsewhere first before reformatting to avoid data loss. Quote Link to comment
MonkeyAdminOnKeyboard
OK Which Format should i use then? Quote Link to comment
MAM59
For array drives i still use xfs. Not fancy but rock solid. You can use btfrs or zfs on "pool" disks. Quote Link to comment
itimpi
5 minutes ago, MonkeyAdminOnKeyboard said: OK Which Format should i use then? Really up to you. I personally prefer XFS on array drives as being the more robust and performant, but BTRFS is a good chance if you have reliable hardware and are worried about data integrity as unlike XFS it has built in check summing. BTRFS though is more likely to have issues if you have unreliable hardware (in particular RAM issues). Quote Link to comment
MonkeyAdminOnKeyboard
ok, thanks. So there are 2 or 3 Answeres, wich are solutions... I will use XFS, but i use an CHINA Mini PC the AOOSTAR R7. and i dont think my hardware is reliable Quote Link to comment
