herculepirate
I am looking for instructions on how to migrate from one server to another. I have a custom built server but moving to a Dell T320. I have a 1TB Cache drive, 8 HDD's and PLEX and LMS are loaded and run on-boot. Can anyone help me with step by step instructions on this migrations. Thank you. HP Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
Assuming no RAID controllers are involved you just need to move the disks and flash drive to the new server. Quote Link to comment
herculepirate
@JorgeB Thank you. What if there is a RAID Controller. Can I disable the RAID Controller from the BIOS and proceed. Thank you. HP Quote Link to comment

If you have enough ports without the RAID controller, yes. Otherwise it may be possible to flash the controller to IT mode, some can, some can't. Worst case if you need the ports you should be able to add a compatible controller. Quote Link to comment
herculepirate
i have done the following: - Deleted the virtual disks on the DELL T320 and set the drives to NON-RAID. - I have booted using UEFI mode and used my existing working USB and the boot does not happen. The server has been flashed into IT Mode. Any help please. Edited March 31 by herculepirate Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
Try booting in non UEFI mode, some Dell PCs have issues without botting Unraid UEFI. Quote Link to comment
smegger68
I don't use UEFI mode on my T320, it just didn't work so legacy mode and it's fine. Quote Link to comment

So when using the USB creator, allow UEFI boot is unchecked, and the boot mode on the T320 is set to bios? I am having issues with trying out Unraid on my T320, everything is updated to the latest versions, but I keep getting failed to allocate memory for kernel command line, bailing out Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
Having UEFI boot enable doesn't prevent from booting legacy, that is chosen in the BIOS, but if you leave it disable, you can be certain that when it's booting, it's booting legacy. Quote Link to comment
