Anyone get in on the Kickstarter? Which model?

Hopefully there will be enough critical mass of UnRaid users to get everything working, like Fan control, S3 sleep, WoL, LED control, 10Gbe ethernet drivers, Lowest Power C-States(It uses the ASM116X Sata controllers), even the watchdog timer.

How is this different than storaxa?

Umm, for one thing it exists?!  (sorry to those who backed storaxa)

Kickstarter was a strange approach for an established company, but it did generate a lot of publicity.

I see it as a nice off the shelf hardware solution that can hopefully run unRaid well, similar to the LincStation but in more varieties. I think it would be difficult to build something at the price point that it was initially offered. It ships with its own OS, but it's not fully mature and not as flexible as unRaid.

Sorry, I googled around trying to find them for sale and couldn't. I guess my google fu isn't working as well as it usually does.

Well they aren't "for sale" yet, crowdfunding just started. So they also "don't exist" as it is, although it's at least an established brand this time.

I signed up for the 4bay Plus version, the hardware looks very decent for that price, built quality seems to be ok according to first reviews. Lets see how open they are about their platform, would love to run an Unraid instance on it, else it will be a dumb NAS as long as their software is that buggy (as it seems so far). I needed 4 hdd cases anyway so here I get a kind of powerful hardware on top for a few bucks more. Was considering to build a Home Nas with an i5-12400, would cost 200-300$ more, sure more powerful, but I still have my Supermicro E5 built going strong. Just its power consumption 80W idle is getting a bit pricey;) So I plan to shut it down more often when I have the other NAS going.

I meant "it exists" as in the hardware(4BayPlus has been at CES and in the hands of dozens of reviewers), not that you could buy it on Amazon yet. The older 4-bay version has existed for years in the Chinese domestic market and was also sent out to Beta testers to test the built-in software.  I think the hardware is close to the final revisions, but the software is still baking that's why a lot people are asking to run 3rd party OSes like unRaid or TrueNAS or OMV.

I've already seen a few YouTubers post videos with unraid installed, they have not complained about any driver issues. I know for a fact watch dog and 10gbe is not an issue. German YouTuber posted file transfer benchmarks.

Initially, I had planned to be an early investor on this one because uGreen is an established name. However, when uGreen started talking about not supporting 3rd party OS and voiding their warranty, I was hesitant. Despite voiding the warranty I was still considering purchasing one, but when YouTubers began reporting 3rd party OS being blocked and not being able to post, I pumped the brakes. By the time all this uncertainty was cleared up, the early adopter pricing was no longer available. I will continue using my mini-PC/DAS combo for now. I might purchase a Terramaster NAS and plug my Unraid USB directly into the board or build a custom rig using a Jonsbo case. I hear good things about Topton and CWWK boards, but no personal experience yet.

Kickstarter campaign has completed. Hopefully units will be shipping out soon. There have been many Unraid installs on Youtube. I have not seen anything about getting the LEDs to work though.

Got my 4800Plus unit today.

Booted into Bios and disabled the watchdog

BIOS seems pretty primitive - No way to set CPU voltage, You can turn off either NIC(Lan1 Lan2) and there is some fan control.

I added 1 32GB SODIMM to the existing 8GB and am running memtest+ now.

AutoFan works:

pwm2 is the CPU Fan - Probably should let BIOS control that one

pwm3 is the disk array 120mm Fan.

It needs the IT87 driver plugin:

Thanks for that info mine arrived today. Drives are scheduled for tonight and nvme and memory are waiting for pickup at best buy (yeah I know but I don't have a lot of options for pickup)

I have been running the DXP4800 Plus with Unraid for a few days now.
Do you know which sensor is the right one for the mainboard temperature? I guess CPU is Package id 0.
Also, the mainboard model is not displayed and the CPU should have 5 cores and 6 threads, right?

Someone has also posted a script for the LED controller under truenas on github. If someone here has the skills to develop a script or plugin for Unraid that would be great :)

Also Fan pwm2 is the CPU fan and pwm3 is the HDD Fan.

I hope someone can develop an LED plugin as well. That would be really nice.

I would also be happy if someone could do this.

+1 for the LED plugin :).

Running Unraid on my DX6800 Pro.

Would the IT87 driver plugin also be valid for the DX6800 Pro?

yes i had to install it for auto fan to work

When I rebooted the AutoFan wasn't enabled by default. I'm not sure if it was because I disabled pwm2(CPU) and only enabled pwm3(HDD Fan).

I added this to my go script but won't be able to see if it works until I reboot:

/usr/local/emhttp/plugins/dynamix.system.autofan/scripts/rc.autofan 'start'

Also, I think there are still some bugs with AutoFan and the NVME drives that were mentioned in the dynamix thread. For now, I've set a minimum fan Speed of 92 so it doesn't turn off when all of my HDDs are in sleep.

I created a thread for the LED control:
