Featured Replies

Hiya,

I have an issue with my server where it is limited to 100mb but the device should be 1gbs

Is there any way to increase this output?

Thank you :)

Did you reboot the device that's on the other end of the cable?

I am not sure how to set to auto, where would the setting be?

Its connected to the router directly the same as a Mac in the other room, the mac seems to run at 1gbps just fine so i don't think its the router settings

Speed falling back to 100Mbps when it should be 1000Mbps is typically a sign that not all twisted pairs in a LAN cable are connecting.  This can be a cable issue or a port issue at either end of the cable.

In which case you are likely to get better informed feedback if you attach your system’s diagnostics zip file to your next post in this thread. It is always a good idea when asking questions to supply your diagnostics so we can see details of your system, how you have things configured, and the current syslog.

Supported link modes:   10baseT/Half 10baseT/Full
                            100baseT/Half 100baseT/Full
                            1000baseT/Full
                            2500baseT/Full

NIC is advertising higher speed, so it's likely a NIC, switch, or cable problem.
