I had folderview2 working for a while however yesterday when I created a docker manually not via the App repository folder view just throws a fit.

The docker that I have that broke folderview2 is folder-copier. Is it because of the name?

I did take a backup of folderview2 setting and restore but the issue remains the same after a reinstall.

I created Test folder.

Selected the two docker

It is not even showing the correct docker.

I posted on reddit but was suggest to come here, I hop someone has a fix as this is not workable :) I had to uninstall folderview to have the correct functions.

Damn it is the name, I changed the name of the docker to something else and it worked.

I was able to show all icons in a folder by creating a custom css file. I created a file named expand-folders.docker.css in /boot/config/plugins/folder.view2/styles containing the following:

.folder-preview {
    height: auto;
}

So this project has been abondonded then it appears? Is there anyone with any programming knowledge that can pick up where this left off? I fear that it's only a matter of time before an Unraid update breaks this plugin.

Agree. However, I wish the Unraid Team would just build this into UnRaid and release into their next update. Seems, a really useful core feature.

This would be easier for tracking if @VladoPortos returns or someone is able to fork this project and take it over.

I had some time to test out my Claude Pro/claude code free trial so I decided to fork the main branch of Folder View 2 and start playing. My intention was to fix the current issues and add a couple of improvements that annoyed me.

Note: Some of these fixes may have already happened in the beta branch.

In doing this I/Claude have kept an updated changelog to highlight exactly what was changed and how in an effort that maybe Vlado could review what I’ve done and look at incorporating it themselves if they come back.

I’m currently running my vibe coded update and it appears to be running well. I had some confidence I wouldn’t break anything as I reviewed each change Claude submitted.

I mean no disrespect to Vlado vibe coding this but I have little confidence someone with actual skills was going to pick this plugin up.

I’m not sure if sharing my repository is the right thing to do but here is a screenshot of the versions I have tested and currently using.

Like anything I vibe code, I did this for personal use but I figured there might be some people out there this might interest.

If anyone has an interest in giving it a go you can find all the info + screenshots in my fork of Vlados repository.

NOTE: I’m running Unraid 7.2.3

@chodeus i was curious what your version would look like. So i copy all necessary files of my old install to a save place and removed the old folderfiew2 plugin. I installed your version via the link provided in the description of your fork. Installation finished without any problems. By opening the setup page of the folderview plugin by clicking the plugin icon just opens a blank page. So i double checkd if the installation link was correct. Yes, it was. The same error occurs when i install the plugin the manually way. Any advice?

Use the link again now, I had just resolved this build issue I noticed after restarting my server.

Then copy your docker and vm.json back.

You should then be on version 2026.02.05.

Edit: again, can confirm, it’s all back 100% functional again after server reboot. Sorry about that!!

Anything else you notice please let me know.

Seems current dev just not have time for maintaining the project :(

With my settings it is fine, what docker folder settings have you got toggled?

If you want to try my branch you can use a link to update to it. Worst case, uninstall folder view and use Vlados link or the partially working Community Apps version.

Just remember, always backup your docker.json and vm.json and any other files you have modified.

As far as maintaining this, I’ll keep updating my fork and capturing changes against Vlados repository in hope that someone that can actually code picks up the whole lot.

I just wanted to get the plugin back fully functional. If there’s anything else broken let me know and I’ll see what I can do!

Yep, same was for me last year for Mover Tuning plugin, just wanted to get back functional to plugin, and this was changed to a year of maintaining the plugin :)

You’ve done well with that plugin because the mover tuning is a beast!

I’ll do what I can with this plugin. I’m only really interested in fixing what is broken but if I have time I’ll entertain feature requests.

I just don’t want to break the plugin 😂

Ah yes I see, what sort of device did you take that screenshot on? I find things look a little worse on my phone but on PC and iPad it looks much better.

Fixed by : changed from 80px -> 150px

Your default css is fine, it was issue in my custom CSS.
