bzfirmware checksum error

Featured Replies

I can't get unraid  to load  . I have attached the error message I am getting where it stops every time. Does anyone know what has failed . I was running the the lasted version (not rc or beta) have been running for years.

Is this a failed thumb drive or if I got to this point is it a sata controller or mother board issue?

Thanks for you help in advance

Chad

I would suggest downloading the zip file for the Unraid release you are running and extracting all the bz* type files overwriting the ones on the flash drive as this seems to frequently fix this type of issue.

Try recreating the flash drive, first backup the current one, then recreate it using the USB tool, confirm the flash drive boots with the stock install, and if yes, restore only the /config folder from the backup overwriting any existing files.

No luck with that either I even tried loading a fresh install on another thumb drive with the same results

I am not sure if it helps with identifying the problem but the photo that shows that during start up it starts listing the hard drives that is not all the hard drives installed it just stops at the one PM 1 Port 0 and goes to the screen with the curser there are another 5 drives .

Make sure the BIOS is set to boot from the flash drive, you can also try disconnecting all disks and retest, if the same, see if you can boot a different OS, like a Windows our Ubuntu live flash drive, that will confirm if it's a hardware issue.

Fingers crossed I think I have solved it and the thumb drive was bad. The problem was the bios kept changing  the boot device order when the thumb drive would fail to boot so when I tried to boot from a refreshed or another thumb drive I would have to go back to the bios to put the USB first each time.

With the old thumb drive it would start and looked like everything was ok then the GUI would fail to load on the web interface within a few hours but the dockers were still accessible but then each of those would fail to be accessible over the next hour.

I switched to another thumb drive switch my key over and all seams good for now.

Hi @itimpi !

Many thanks for your tip! That solved my problem with the bzfirmware checksum error I got after I added a second 32 GB RAM module. Just copied over the 10 bz*files from the same OS release onto the same flashdrive. Now Unraid is running again.

Best regards,

Tom
