Unraid Connect plugin dramatically slowing webgui performance

Featured Replies

I'm running Unraid 7.1.4 with the latest Connect plugin version. My webgui is extremely unresponsive (multiple minutes to load each page, can't view array read/write stats in real time, CPU per-core usage doesn't update, syslog and terminal windows takes 1+ min to load once opened) and I can't sign out of the plugin or unlink/link my server to the plugin (I just get an "error occurred" message).

After uninstalling the plugin, my webgui responsiveness and functionality is back to normal. When I reinstall the plugin, the above issues occur again.

How can I best go about troubleshooting this?

There have been multiple reports of that, I'd say just remove until fixed.

We think we’ve discovered the reason for this, hoping to have it resolved in our release (this week if all our testing goes well)

@elibosley

I just installed the 09 July 2025 Connect Plugin update and the webgui responsiveness is much improved. Specifically, the Dashboard tab is completely back to normal - CPU core usage updates smoothly and in real time.

The "Main" page of the webgui however is still a bit slow to respond, but not as bad as previous. The disk R/W speeds update at a consistent interval of 1 update every 3 seconds, and then all of a sudden the R/W speeds will update several times in per second, and then they'll go back to updating every ~3 seconds.

I'm also experiencing a visual bug where my automatic flash backup is activated - I can see the automatic backups in the syslog - but the Management Access settings page shows that it's deactivated. When I click activate, it says I'm not signed into Unraid.net but when I actually am.

Glad to hear this. I've been having this issue off and on for a while now and was just doing a last look thru before uninstalling.

With this optimistic note, I guess I'll give it a bit longer and update to the most current version

Just a followup.

I am at UnRaid 7.1.2 and connect 2025.07.10.1432. Going to Connect 2025.07.10.1432 was done just after my comment where I mentioned also having the screen display issue.

I gave it a few days(just to be sure it wasn't a fluke) and I have not had any delays on the Unraid display coming up. Things are working as they should now. 😄👍

Thanks for the fix it had been driving me crazy ...

Incredible! Glad to hear it. I think this new release solved many of our performance issues. So happy we got you sorted out!

Unfortunately it appears that this issue is back with the latest available plugin.

I have Unraid 7.1.4 running on two servers and had the Unraid Connect plugin 2025.09.12.1948 installed on both. I had noticed slow performance on both servers following updating the plugin to the latest version a couple of days ago. Uninstalling the plugin from one restores WebGUI performance and stops hanging / wait popups, I have yet to remove it from the other but anticipate a similar experience as the issue only started when I had updated the Connect plugin.

Thanks

I am also experiencing this issue. I uninstalled the plugin and immediately noticed an improvement in performance.

It appears to effect every aspect of the GUI, most notably the docker tab or community applications, but I do have 74 containers installed. No seen as such when I navigate to the Dashboard, Main or Shares tabs, but those I assume are not as resource intensive as either the docker or CA tab, CA it pretty much hangs and forget trying to search for anything there.

Confirmed to be the connect plugin causing the issue as when I uninstalled it from my second server, that also noted an immediate performance uplift when navigating around the GUI.

Thanks

I'm having the same issue, most significantly affecting the docker and CA tabs. Page loads take ~2 minutes in CA tab (e.g. when clicking a "SHOW MORE" links). Uninstalling the Connect plugin immediately resolves the issue. Wasn't sure when the issue first occurred so I downgraded one version at a time. The most recent version that works without issue is 4.19.1. Every version 4.20.0 and up has the unresponsive UI on the CA tab.

Just wanted to chime in and say that I have also been having the same issue. The Dashboard is somewhat slow but the Docker and CA pages are extremely slow. Usually take more than a minute or so to load resulting in chrome displaying the wait message. As others have said uninstalling the Connect plugin instantly resolves the issue. I did exactly the same as @matthieu.kr and worked my way backwards until I landed on v4.19.1 as being the last version that worked properly for me.

This is now a known issue; I can also reproduce it, it should be fixed soon.

Just to add that this is a very strange issue, don't envy whoever needs to debug this. For me, it only happens with one server, when accessed from a specific client (in this case, a Windows VM) and only when using some browsers, like Chrome and Edge. There is no lag with Firefox, and this was until yesterday. Today Chrome also has no lag, only Edge still shows the issue, and nothing changed from before, AFAIK.

I too am having it when accessing from Chrome on Windows 11. I have Unraid Connect 2025.09.18.1707

CA pages

CA's update to handle the changes is due out next day or so. Final testing and revamps.
