March 13Mar 13 thanks @James MillerI can confirm that the limine BOOTX64.EFI file and the above config settings fixed this issue for my 2012 Mac mini.I did have the issue that I could not start the array, as Unraid said I was missing a cache pool. I did not have a pool before, but there was an empty reference to one. I deleted it and then all was well.Does anyone know if this workaround will likely break in a future update? Or is it something that might get added to the official release?
March 13Mar 13 Author I'm making the assumption and hoping the next major update will include an updated boot loader which may address this. This is very much a workaround, and in a future update the bootx64.efi will likely get overwritten. Edited March 13Mar 13 by James Miller

May 24May 24 Author I did it carefully over the past week. I first upgraded a test environment to 7.3. It was a Mac Mini. It upgraded okay (modified boot loader in place), and I then switched to internal boot, which is using a newer / different boot loader. It all worked. I then upgraded my main Mac Mini (with all the Thunderbolt enclosures attached). Switched across to internal boot, and it’s been working for about a week using internal boot.Seems to be working in 7.3.
May 24May 24 Community Expert You can use the Limine boot with 7.3 if booting from a flash drive, if you use an internal boot pool, you can use the stock Unraid bootloader (since it uses a different one with internal boot)
May 25May 25 Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately I was still getting the kernel panic after updating with the stock bootloader, even after an attempt at a manual upgrade. I gave up and switched to Limine and it worked perfectly from there.
