24Bay box up on ebay again.

if only he would ship to the uk.

I don't even need another server and I want to get one.

It is really tempting to get one for a true 100% backup server shoved in my basement that i turn on once every week or two. This would be running it "as-is".

This beast will be L-O-U-D....

For myself, it is not worth the purchase of this unit only to try and mod it quieter.  I have enough  spare bits around to make a pretty good server from scrap. but, this is tempting.. If, i had a gigabit hardline running to the basement from my existing server room, I would get one.

For others, this is a great way to get a 24 bay unraid box for cheap and ready to run.. if..that is if...  they have a place to put it "as-is" or the time and ability to mod it...

The same seller also has the AMD versions again. those have 2x PCIv1 8x slots. that might be of more value for some people.  just look at the sellers store for more options.

The fans in the psu and cooling are LOUD. Swap them out with slower fans and youll regain your sanity.

I love my case. Best money ever spent.

me too, super happy with mine.  i am tempted to buy a second although i definitely don't need it...

Is that a 4224 case? All the bits look like just what I should have bought if I hadn't cobbled mine together.

Those of you that are running this box, was setup fairly easy? Noise is not an issue for me, all I care about is reliability.

I'm having a nightmare with my proliant microserver N40L and an attached JBOD enclosure. I'm tempted to just take out all the hard drives and sell the rest, and buy this thing instead.

EDIT: Christ, $83 shipping for me.

$253 for me.... still cheaper than getting a different 24 bay case.

Does anybody know whether it is possible to set up Wake-on-lan on this beast? I can't find the setting in the bios to set to s3.

It's going to be rough dealing with the noise of this thing running all the time otherwise. I replaced the two rear fans, and that helped a little, but good lord.

If it is like the single processor MB (X7SBE instead of X7DBE) it will NOT do sleep only hibernate.
