Failed to copy over files

Featured Replies

Hi there

Ok i have 2 HP Microservers running unraid 4.7 connected to a network along with one windows 7 PC.

The network is over a GB switch.

I have several shares setup on both servers which are setup as network drives on the windows 7 PC.

The problem I have is when the drive space across all drives on either unraid box get to around 500gb left I can no longer copy files over to from the PC.

What happens is I try to start the copy and windows comes up with the window of calculating time etc... then after a few minutes it tells me the network location is no longer available.

The only way around this is for me to copy the files to a external HD and connect it in direct to one of the unraid boxes then telnet into the HP box mount the external HD and copy that way.

Any advice you can give would be great?

Thanks

Ah ok will get them and paste them up when i get home.

Thanks

As crappy as this sounds: Get a cache drive for both systems.

I've built 4 unRAID servers and without cache drives they all have timeouts when transferring to them. The more full they are, the more likely it will happen. With a cache drive, this does not happen and then unRAID will send the files over internally (so there's no way for it to time out).

Lucas, what is the min disc space in the share settings?

I have got some success when setting it to same as the largest free space size on any disk.
