December 21, 201213 yr Has anyone managed to mount an ExFAT-formatted USB on unRAID? I work with both Macs and PCs, and ExFAT has been the easiest way to transfer large (>4GB) files between them. I'd love if unRAID could join the party.
December 30, 201213 yr Author For the record, I was able to get this working with the following steps: * Download and install (using installpkg) Fuse http://sourceforge.net/projects/scons/files/scons/2.2.0/scons-2.2.0.tar.gz/download * Download, extract, and install http://sourceforge.net/projects/scons/files/scons/2.2.0/scons-2.2.0.tar.gz/download * Download and install (using installpkg) pkgtools http://slackware.cs.utah.edu/pub/slackware/slackware-13.37/slackware/a/pkgtools-13.37-noarch-9.tgz * Install gcc (from the unmenu package) * Download and extract the fuse-exfat SlackBuild http://slackbuilds.org/repository/13.37/system/fuse-exfat/ * Download and extract the fuse-exfat source: https://exfat.googlecode.com/files/fuse-exfat-0.9.6.tar.gz * Run fuse-exfat.SlackBuild This left me with a package at /tmp/fuse-exfat-0.9.6-i486-1_SBo.tgz, which I could then install using installpkg (at startup).

Clearly, you are not a linux newbie... Glad you got a working ExFAT driver compiled.
December 30, 201213 yr Author Attached is the compiled version of fuse-exfat (zipped, since the forum won't allow me to attach raw .tgz files). With this, you should be able to just run installpkg to get going (ignore the other 7 steps fuse-exfat-0.9.6-i486-1_SBo.tgz.zip
December 30, 201213 yr thanks for the package could you also create the package for exfat-utils (currently the mkfs commands for exfat are missing)
January 26, 201313 yr latest version https://dl.dropbox.com/u/49442039/exfat-utils-1.0.0-i686-1PTr.txz https://dl.dropbox.com/u/49442039/fuse-exfat-1.0.0-i686-1PTr.txz
September 27, 201411 yr can someone upload the 1.0.0 version again? dropbox is not accessible. thanks in advance *update* nevermind, found it in the signature of piotrasd in the dump truck. thank you. maybe exfat could be supported in unraid 6?
October 1, 201411 yr how can i do this? i'm not that skilled without some advice. some help would be nice
February 14, 201511 yr This package worked for me on unraid 6 beta 12: https://slackonly.com/pub/packages/14.1-x86_64/system/fuse-exfat/
May 3, 20197 yr I managed to mount my exfat usb drive. Is there a explorer style app to be used to browse the contents after mounting? Krusader seems to not display the files in the mounted drive.

Krusader seems to not display the files in the mounted drive. This thread is over 4 years old. Most people will be using the Unassigned Devices plugin to mount various disks, including exfat. You must not be using V5 (which is the subforum this thread is in) or you wouldn't have Krusader. Did you mount the disk with Unassigned Devices?
June 22, 20197 yr @ryanlio I can confirm as well that the Unassigned Devices plugin works with exFAT. I am able to copy files from & to the USB drive with Midnight Commander (MC) Although, will throw up a chown error after the file completes its transfer from the Unraid array to the USB drive. Another thing to note, is that you may not be able to share the USB drive via SMB because of exFAT. To use Midnight Commander open up a terminal window from the Unraid GUI (next to your log out button) and type in: mc You can also SSH into your Unraid server and use MC from there too. Edited June 26, 20197 yr by Zer0Nin3r Found incompatibility with MC + exFAT
