Yup 3 year.... I hope so. I am about to purchase one. Samsung there site I can't find the warranty info.

Not to derail this thread, but can a "NAS drive" be used as an additional drive on my PC??  I have 4x500GB drives that I would like to retire.  It would not be in a RAID array, etc- just standard storage.  I am just looking for some storage (for movies, music), for things that are NOT on my unRaid box.  I have a TigerDirect up the road, and could use an extra 2TB in my desktop.

Any downside?

Thanks!

Yes it can.... it's the same as a green drive.

I thought Seagate doesn't have any drives labeled "green" any more?

Seagate doesn't call it a "green" drive ... but it's a low-power drive which many refer to as "green" drives.    In this case "green" is the ecological friendly term simply meaning low-power  :)
