The linked Ubuntu package shows someone has xapi working with 4.3 though. I would agree it is not an especially mainstream solution, to say the least, though.

Damn that interface is sexy, i was super excited untill ironic said it cant be done yet :(

If you mean unRAID as a VM that will only be an option for people with pci pass-through to include passing their USB for the license check.  The problem is, many users don't have the hardware for pass-through.  Furthermore, depending on it means depending on a small subset of the consumer motherboards with poorly documented iommu support.  That is, unless we move to server boards which are more expensive.

Then there is the apparently non-ideal situation of using pass-through for storage arrays.  But now I'm just quoting other people.

I'm using ESXi 5.0 and I'm passing through the USB flash drive directly no need for PCI pass-through.  Works fine.  I only use PCI pass-through for my M1015 HDD controller.  So you could run unRAID without PCI pass-through support if you wanted to RDM drives to your unRAID VM.  I wouldn't recommend it but you could do it that way.  But I suppose with Xen/KVM you  have to pass through the controller to get the ID to the unRAID VM?
