February 25, 201412 yr Hi. I am upgrading from 5.0.beta13 to 5.0.5 -- unfortunately after following the upgrade instruction, the server does not starts on STOPPED status, and there are less count of assignable drives. What mistake did i make? Thanks for the reply.
February 25, 201412 yr Sounds like the .key file is missing. It should be in the config folder. If it is gone and you don't have a backup you will have to contact limetech to get it. Are you using the same flash drive? Your key file is tied to the GUID of the flash drive you used when you purchased unRAID.
February 25, 201412 yr Author i have the same .key file placed in the config folder. what i could not remember is if the key is tied to GUID of the flash
February 25, 201412 yr So you changed flash drive? If your old flash died Limetech will probably give you a new key.
February 25, 201412 yr The key is tied to the flash drive. If you changed it, you'll need to either contact LimeTech to get a new key file to tie it to it or revert back to your old Flash drive.
February 25, 201412 yr depending on the flash drive it might be one that was discovered to not provide a unique GUID. If that is the case it might be that the GUID was blacklisted in one of the later releases. I would contact LimeTech via email with your information, the type of flash drive you are using, and the version of unRAID that work(s/ed) and which one does not.
February 25, 201412 yr Your not going to mistake a blacklisted key it does make it very obvious KK, i had no idea what it looks like when it is blacklisted.
February 26, 201412 yr Understood. The only reason I know is when i was experimenting with USB SD readers. Most of them are blacklisted and unRAID just tells you so on the license page.
