trurl
Are webGUI-latest and transmission_unplugged your only addons? Can you access the unRAID webGUI? When you say "transmission client" do you mean the web client which you access at http://tower:9091 ? Or are you using some other client application? I also use Transmission Remote GUI, for example. Where are you seeing the connection refused message? Link to comment
adamthepolak
addons installed are; -dmidecode -ds_store_cleanup -Clean Powerdown -rsync -SMART tools i have transmission remote gui on my desktop and i use it to access the transmission that is on the unraid server. when i open the remote gui the message appears "connection refused". trurl
Just some ideas: Is the desktop a Windows machine? Is it on the same local network as tower? Can you connect to the Transmission web interface at http://tower:9091 ? Which version of Transmission Remote GUI are you using? Have you looked in the Transmission Remote GUI menu -Torrent - Connect to Transmission - Manage Connections ? Have you tried temporarily turning off the firewall on the desktop? Maybe even temporarily turning off any virus software to see if something is blocking. Do you have another machine you can try to connect from? Link to comment
adamthepolak
ive tried accessing from both a mac and a pc, yes the tower is on the same local network. i can connect to tower:8080 and the ip address of the tower but not "http://tower:9091/" checked manage connections and there are no changes from what it was before. turning off firewall and anti virus does nothing Link to comment

trurl
I'm about out of ideas. The settings page says it is running. If you click on RUNNING it is supposed to take you to the transmission web interface. I guess you could try that and see if it thinks it is somewhere other than tower:9091 What about ps aux | grep transmission Link to comment

trurl
If you add your torrents to a new install as long as the destination folder is the same it should pick up where it left off. It will verify the parts you already have and then resume. I have done this when I wanted to reseed as well. It verifies that I have the same files as the torrent then it starts seeding. adamthepolak
tried to install from scratch and im getting this error message now when i try to run the plg, Link to comment
trurl
These xml parse errors are typical of downloading the html page that displays the source code on github instead of the actual code. Click through the link you downloaded this from and then on that next page right-click on RAW and save as. Link to comment
adamthepolak
the file type keeps saving as txt not plg even though i set it to plg, getting same error Link to comment
trurl
Look in the file you downloaded. If it starts with <!DOCTYPE html> <html> you have downloaded the web page that displays the contents of the plg file, not the plg file itself. The plg starts with <?xml version='1.0' standalone='yes'?> <PLUGIN> Go to Influencer's GitHub and scroll all the way to the bottom to the section labeled Downloads: and Right click and save link as Link to comment
adamthepolak
Got a clean install, now im just trying to recover my torrents Link to comment
trurl
I just finished moving to a virtual machine to do my torrents. Once I got transmission installed and configured I just launched my .torrent files, which opened Transmission Remote GUI. Transmission found the downloaded files, verified them, and resumed my downloads/seeds. You just have to make sure to set the download folder correctly. Link to comment
adamthepolak
I have the old data folder saved that has the "resume" and "torrents" folders. I cant find the new data folder. Ive left the address to the default user folder but i cant find it on my usb. Link to comment
adamthepolak
The mess has been fixed. There was a random folder "DQMZ-3c" that had a transmission setting file in it. it got created in the same location as my last data directory. I had to wipe the permissions on my unraid to be able to delete it but after doing so everything went back to normal. Link to comment
