adrockin
Anyone had any luck getting tvheadend working w/ a HDhomerun? Docker seems like the perfect solution, saving the hassle of patching Unraid files with each release. Trying my hardest, but can't get in to work. Quote Link to comment
dmacias
Have you thought about using mythtv? It's pretty easy to setup a mythtv backend virtual machine with mythbuntu. Quote Link to comment
pinion
I hadn't thought about a VM. That's a good idea. The HDHomerun I have just sits around. Does anyone know if the Raspberry Pi makes a good frontend? Quote Link to comment
dmacias
I currently have a mythbuntu vm but you could start a ubuntu vm with tvheadend. I have 2 raspberry pi's in the bedrooms with Openelec and a Zotac Zbox in the living room with an ssd and Openelec also. The pi's work ok but better when you overclock them. I have two HDHomerun prime cable card network tuners. It all works very well. Wife and kid approved. Did you try the tvheadend docker on the docker hub registry? If so did you set network to host instead of setting up ports? Quote Link to comment
alexricher
I haven't found a tvheadend docker yet but I'm also searching for this as this could be much easier to maintain than having to recompile Unraid everything a new beta comes out. If anyone has found one, don't hesitate to spread the love! I personally would use it with a Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-225 but in the end, it's very similar to what you're trying to achieve with the HDHomerun. And since it has to run on Unraid (because I want to share it between multiple boxes, a ZBox with OpenElec and a full throttle HTPC), I prefer running it from this OS directly; hence the docker utility. [EDIT] Actually, I had found this: https://github.com/arionl/tvheadend-build I just didn't know exactly how to set it up... If that works, I guess it'd be pretty awesome! Quote Link to comment
