Looks like you still have a port conflict on port 80.

Why are you doing this?

when I start up PlexConnect.py in remote login console...

You don't need to touch the console or command line at all.

Maybe you are getting the port error because you are starting a 2nd instance of PlexConnect from the console?

Also, when you start PlexConnect, it will generate a Plexconnect.log file in the Install directory you specified on the plugin GUI setup screen.  That will indicate if PlexConnect starts up without issues on any of the ports before you even try to connect from your AppleTV device.

Thanks very much jevans04 for your help. I'm new to Linux, and know nothing about PlexConnect, please don't feel so bad if I ask you stupid question . So in this case, I don't need to involve any command line this time at all right ? But , how do I know my PlexConnect work correctly ? or just base on the message in GUI - PlexConnect is started that I can assume my PlexConnect is good (I see it in 192.168.123.80:90 login root and in the tab setting of plugins). Do I need to manual edit the configure file in PlexConnect directory as IP address of unRAID server ..etc .?

if I need to do so, what is the file I need to modify ? Please give me some hints to solve problem, I'm so stress I read many docs and try many settings combination, but it still not working.

Thanks again

So there was a Plex wide issue involving connect/shared libraries yesterday that has now been resolved. I was troubleshooting it for hours before I noticed a bazillion forum posts about Plex connect not working.

Ogi,

What Do I have to do with my PlexConnect ? Delete old library and update new one . Can you make new PLG file ? so , I can try it . or give me the steps that you solve problems.

Thanks Ogi

The issue I was referring to was not a local problem but one with Plex.TV servers.  The issue has been fixed so things should work as interned (if that was your problem).

In Plex media server settings, under Connect, does it say you are logged in and all is well?

No need to use the command line at all for setup/starting PlexConnect.

You can verify PlexConnect started correctly by viewing the plexconnect.log file.

Do I need to manual edit the configure file in PlexConnect directory as IP address of unRAID server ..etc .?

if I need to do so, what is the file I need to modify ?

Maybe.

The file would be "Settings.cfg" created in your PlexConnect installation directory.

1. Reboot your server to ensure you don't have multiple instances of PlexConnect running from your adventures with the command line.

2. Go to the unRAID WebGUI, Settings tab, PlexConnect setup screen.  Ensure PlexConnect is shown as "Running" and post a screenshot.

3. Go find the plexconnect.log file in your installation directory (it is a simple text file that can be opened with Notepad).  Post a copy of the file.

Thanks very much jevans04 . I'm sure Plexserver and PlexConnect are running. I checked them with unRAID WebGUI, both of them seem running fine with out errors. Now, I'm at worked, when I go home I will post the plexconnect log for you to see. Hoped you can point out what is step I missed.  Please help me out. I'm so new with this. Thanks again.

Everything looks fine in your install.

Have you created the certicates?

Have you installed the certificate on the AppleTV?

https://github.com/iBaa/PlexConnect/wiki/Install-Guide

Jevans04, I click on Trailers icon, ATV3 pop up error message "Trailers is unavailable. Try again later".

I don't know , my ATV3 is not certificate correctly or some thing else. The link

https://github.com/iBaa/PlexConnect/wiki/Install-Guide

is not work for me, I use instruction from https://langui.sh/2013/08/27/appletv-ssl-plexconnect/

seem it let me install certificate to AVT3 , but I'm not sure I do correct or not correct, because I'm certificate on different PC other than unRAID server. Any PC can certificate ATV3 or The unRAID server can only give a certification to ATV3. I'm totally confuse in these steps (After certificate to  ATV3 do I need to copy certificate file to unRAID - Plexconnect folder ? as PlexConnect/assets/certificates/trailers.pem ) and Last thing, can I use "trailers.pem" to other ATV (shareable) ?

Please review the logs and point me what direction I might try.

Thanks

It looks like you successfully sent the certificate to the AppleTV.

Any PC can create the certificate pair.

You just need to then put the certificates in your PlexConnect installation folder.

I will need PlexConnect log files to help you troubleshoot further.

Also, this forum provides good info on troubleshooting:  https://forums.plex.tv/index.php/topic/69410-read-before-posting/

Particularly this link on how to report an issue and the info needed to help troubleshoot: https://github.com/iBaa/PlexConnect/wiki/How-to-report-an-issue

I will need PlexConnect log files to help you troubleshoot further.

1. From the PlexConnect WebGUI, Stop PlexConnect

2. In your Settings.cfg file, change:  loglevel = High

3. Delete your current PlexConnect.log file (so that a new one will be generated)

4. From the PlexConnect WebGUI, Restart PlexConnect

5. Try to connect to your Plex server from the AppleTV Trailers icon

6. Copy and paste your PlexConnect.log file here in this forum thread

I think you may have a certificate issue.

Delete any certificates you may have loaded on the AppleTV.

1. Go to the AppleTV settings menu.

2. Select “General” then scroll the cursor down to highlight “Send Data To Apple” and set to "No".

3. With "Send Data To Apple" highlighted, press “Play” (not the normal “Select” button)

4. Highlight any profiles that are shown, press Select, and then "Remove Profile"

Generate new certificates following this guide:

https://github.com/iBaa/PlexConnect/wiki/Install-Guide-Windows-Certificates

Make sure to copy the new certificates to your PlexConnect install folder and delete any existing older certificates you created

Install the new certificate on your AppleTV:

1. Go to the AppleTV settings menu.

2. Select “General” then scroll the cursor down to highlight “Send Data To Apple” and set to "No".

3. With "Send Data To Apple" highlighted, press “Play” (not the normal “Select” button) and you will be prompted to add a profile.

4. Enter (without the quotes): "192.168.123.80/trailers.cer"

From the PlexConnect WebGUI restart PlexConnect

Try launching Trailers on the AppleTV

Thanks very much jevans04, certification is hardest step. I will do step by step as your guide. Last time take me 2 days weekend to do certification for ATV3. I hope everything is smooth this time.

Thanks again,

Without your help, I am not able to make ATV3 to work with PlexConnect and I will drop this project. Thanks you very much for your times and your effort to help me out and point to me right direction to go. Thanks again Jevans04.
