[REQUEST] Mythtv Backend Docker please :)

working a new build....

won't be a crash and burn build though....

just one caveat when it's done, you'll have to remove that startup application and stop the container, then do the update....

just pushing build on docker hub now.

OK...but answer me this...

I delete the startup app, restart the container, and the startup app is back.  :S

yeppers... cool ain't it...

zombie file...

na, i always do it like that, builds in some idiot proofing if someone deletes something they shouldn't......

Do you want me to delete the .desktop file or delete the entry in Startup Applications?  Actually, can I just disable (uncheck it)?  Will that work well enough?

either delete the file or delete the entry in startup, either will do the same thing.

belt and braces though, i'd delete the startup entry and then check locally stored config files to see if it's actually gone....

be in .config/autostart

OK...removed the entry and the file disappeared.  Container is stopped.  Waiting for GO.

to get livetv i have to use the actual ip of my unraid box in the first page of settings for masterbackend ip address...

also doing that, when i restart the container and the backend comes up, going into settings again , you can stop the backend and make changes etc...

but when you hit escape it looks like the thing has crashed, but there is a terminal window opened, and if you hit alt-tab (it's alt-tab on my mac) to change the window (not change window in your computer's desktop, but in the rdp instance), and select the terminal window , the backend starts.....

you also have to x out the terminal when it's finished doing the mythfil etc....

And you thought the new TVHeadEnd was complicated?!  Anyways, sounds like you're getting there or got there.  Well done mate!

if mythtv ever sorted out the glacially slow channel changing, i'd ditch tvheadend in a heartbeat.

I have seen this also.  I have to ALT+TAB to the session window and CTRL+C a few times to kill it.

Thought it was some new, down with the kids, acronym...

Even googled it lol

First sign of good news...

I updated and when it completed I immediately opened MythWeb before I did anything else.  It was able to reach the backend.  :)

...And I restarted the container and the backend was still reachable.  :)

make sure all the recording and timeshift stuff is working as it should.

i'm going for a complete ripdown test..

Timeshift and recording still work.

Starting the backend coming out of the setup is still buggered.

that's because the window doesn't refocus on the hidden terminal window underneath..

hit alt-tab , let the terminal window do it's thing and the backend should start.

I can alt-tab to the term window but it just sits there.

ok hang on, i'll check the sequence i did before.... just uploading some video to youtube.
