March 31, 201511 yr Hey all, Just took the plunge from 5.X to the 6.0 Beta 14, and I'm having some problems at initial boot. Everything works fine when I use the base install, but the moment I copy my old Config directory I can't get to http://tower or ping the old IP Address. I'm planning on redoing all my old plugins to Dockers, so all I want to make sure works is: - my old drive config - shares - any of the other "base" stuff I might need (PWs, smb, whatever). Can someone share what those necessary/base config files I need to copy over are? Thanks!
March 31, 201511 yr Author I've used that page, and from what I can tell it's suggesting: - Don't copy the plugins folder - Don't copy SimpleFeatures - Copy the rest of the stuff. The quote from the source article seems to suggest that I shouldn't copy the other subfolders that might exist other than the Shares folder. Is that right? >>> I had an 'email' folder that I also deleted. There was a 'shares' folder that I copied along with the files in the root of the 'config' directory because inspection of the folder showed that it contained the setup for my shares. I would surmise that this 'shares' folder would be the only folder that most people would want to retain from their old 'config' directory. <<<
March 31, 201511 yr I've been working on a wiki page to help with the v5 to v6 upgrade, but it's woefully incomplete so far. It does however cover the pre-upgrade and upgrade steps, if you would like to check it. Critiques and suggestions are welcome! Upgrading to UnRAID v6
March 31, 201511 yr Author Hey RobJ, I couldn't get it to work even if copied over the bare minimum files. So, I just copied over my Shares directory and reconfigured the array with the prior drive config. All is working now.
