Yes, its currently doing a parity sync, and one drive just hit 40 degrees, not happy.

 

Given most new drives have acceptable operating temps up to 70'c and you're getting temps of ~ 40'c under load. Well, I don't see that there is anything to be unhappy about.

True, I opened the side of the case and the front door of the case as the last three drive bays are empty with no sleds in them, that has helped drop the temps down to 33, 36, 34, 35, and 34 so that is better. Once the parity sync has stopped, I'll close it up and monitor the drive temps.

Was looking at getting this case because everytime I open my existing case to work on things I get more and more old plastic breaking off.  Does anyone use a 980TI or a full-size graphic card in this case?  Looking it it, I'm wondering if it would be a bit tight or not fit at all.

 

edit, nevermind.. I was looking at the CS, not the DS

as a new owner i can see the issues talked about with my case but another has stumped me maybe its in the manuel but do i power the backplane (8 hdds) with both sata and the molex? i will plug this direct into my raid card. (Holy Necro Sorry)
