Unraid was telling me I was running out of docker.img in an attempt to increase the image size, I disabled the docker, and increased the image from 25 to 50GB, and reenabled.

Now all my docker apps are gone... but the docker.img shows

Total devices 1 FS bytes used 23.48GiB

devid    1 size 50.00GiB used 26.00GiB path /dev/loop0

where did my docker apps go?? should I have not done what I did??

If you keep all of your config files on your array or cache drive, this is not the slightest problem.

Go re-add each docker container from the Docker tab. Press "Add Container". When you go to add a container, your templates dropdown should now include a [templates-user] section that has your last used settings(port mappings, storage mappings, etc) for each docker saved.

I have lost all of my containers quite a few times for various reasons, but it's never more than a slight hiccup. After reinstalling the containers, they come back up with all of their settings/config and get right back to work.

Just increasing the space shouldn't have lost the images.  But, if you deleted the existing image, then all of the containers would have been lost.  Either re-add them through the procedure above, or if you use CA they will appear in the previous apps section
