Bugman1400
For some reason I cannot RD into my VM. It comes up with an IP of 192.168.122.225 after an ipconfig command which is a bit weird since my last VM had an IP of 192.168.1.136. What else am I missing? Link to comment
Lebowski
Not sure if this will help you, but I use my router to assign fixed IP via mac address to my VM's, works really well and I leave VM's on DHCP. Link to comment
Naldinho
Use the unraid VNC to log into your VM -- got to adapter and change the settings so that the VM has a static IP that you pick. Then try RDP again using that IP Link to comment
itimpi
you might want to check the network settings of the VM to make sure it is set to use 'br0' as the bridge to make it visible on the LAN. Sounds as if it might be set to use something else so is working in NAT mode. Link to comment

You have set the VM to use virbr0 and need to change that to br0. This allows the VM to communicate directly with your LAN and obtain an IP address from your DHCP server. As suggested you can make a static setting on your DHCP server to ensure the VM always gets the same IP address assigned (be sure to note the MAC address of the VM, which is dynamically created upon first VM set up). See the attached drawings for more details. Link to comment
Bugman1400
Yes...that was it. Thanks guys! As a caveat...I still had trouble with RDP into the VM. I was getting the error message " The remote computer requires Network Level Authentication, which your computer does not support....". I solved this going to my W10 VM's System Properties/Remote Desktop and unchecking the box that says "Allow connections only from computers running Remote Desktop with Network Level Authentication (recommended)" Link to comment
