HAVE MERCY! ClearOS, Unraid, "Failed to Write Bootloader Configuation Error"

Right! Total newbie to unraid here but I am at the stage that if I do not reach out to the LimeTech community I am going to end out taking my server outdoors and turning it into a samsung note.....namely black and crispy.

 

Here is the issue I am having.

 

I am running unraid 6.3.0-rc1 (have tried stable aswell to no avail) and I am attempting to install a VM with ClearOS. I go through all the normal installation questions, it does its thing and the minute it hits the point in the installation where it installs the boot loader I get "Failed to Write Bootloader Configuation Error". If I click continue it seems to complete but when the VM reboots I get a black window with a GRUB> prompt and that's it.

 

I've been attempting this for 2 days. I've had unraid for 2 days. LOL

 

Any ideas?

I would suggest that you attach a diagnostics file with your next post.  (That will give the real gurus something to work with!)

I'm attempting an install of this OS myself right now.  I did get the same error as you when using OVMF, but now I'm trying SeaBIOS to see if that makes a difference.

Confirmed.  Just use SeaBIOS and all will be well.  Turn on the Advanced Settings toggle and change the BIOS type.
