DarkX9109
So I have two main VMs with unRaid. Arch Linux with an EVGA GTX 780 Dual FTW w/ ACX card and Windows 10 with a Sapphire Nitro R9 390. My issue is with the Windows 10 VM. From a fresh boot everything works but when I shutdown the Windows 10 VM and then later boot it back up, it hangs and nothing pops up on the screen. Sometimes it hangs to the point it crashes the host and also sometimes floods my network which the only way to fix that is to pull the plug. If it didn't crash unRaid, I can take the array offline and reboot and everything is peachy. I'm trying to consolidate my other unRaid box into this setup but it really sucks that if I'm done with the Windows 10 VM that I have to reboot unRaid to prevent a crash or hang. The Arch VM with the 780 doesn't have this problem. Window 10 VM: CPU MODE: Host Passthrough CPUS: 2 cores / 4 threads Ram: 16384 Machine: i440fx-2.5 Bios: OVMF Hyper-V: No GPU: R9 390 Arch VM: CPU MODE: Host Passthrough CPUS: 2 cores / 4 threads Ram: 16384 Machine: i440fx-2.5 Bios: OVMF GPU: 780 All insight is greatly appericiated! Darkun1
I believe this is a known issue when using newer AMD cards, I have two R9 380 that are collecting dust because I experienced the same issue. I can reboot the Windows 10 VM but if I power it off then back on I get a black screen and have to reboot the host to get the VM to come back online. Some people have been lucky with their newer AMD cards but for the vast majority of us it does not work well. If you use Nvidia cards this issue should go away until a fix can be found for AMD. I made the jump to two Nvidia GTX 960 and they work great. Link to comment

DarkX9109
Well I got an nVidia GTX 1070 and everything seems to be working now. I guess since there hasn't been a response to my post in 2 weeks this will have to do as a fix. Link to comment
vinay
I believe this is a known issue when using newer AMD cards, I have two R9 380 that are collecting dust because I experienced the same issue. I made the jump to two Nvidia GTX 960 and they work great. i dont think this issue is with newer amd cards.. i have an old ATI 5770 and i all i get is blank black screen.. no boot up or anything.. but if i move it vnc mode all works fine .. EDIT: Just in case anyone reads this in future.. the issue was not with the card in my case.. It was due to PCIe ACS option being enabled.. on disabling it everything was normal.. Link to comment
