GerryGER
Hi, I got my unRAID some new HW (proper Server MB, ECC RAM, a Xeon 1220 v3 and a old but nice rombus server case ) so I have been wondering if there is anything I should take care of before moving all the HW. Already made a backup of my USB Drive and wrote down the order of my HDDs, anything I forgot or should take care of? Quote Link to comment
garycase
Sounds like you've got it well in hand. Just set it up; install the disks; and boot to the USB flash drive. That's all there is to it unless you've got an unsupported NIC or controller -- but those are unlikely. Quote Link to comment
Frank1940
If you are really concerned, before you move the hard disks and Boot Flash Drive, install everything else except for those. Download the version of unRAID that you are going to use. Make bootable any flash drive you have around and see if boots up. If it does, use the GUI and look in the syslog for any problems with detected hardware. If you have any add-in SATA cards, make sure they are detected and the drivers loaded. You could also run memtst for 24 hours after this check. then reboot again and see if unRAID still comes up properly. Quote Link to comment
