The spread of this has been stopped thankfully and it was only affecting those who had not patched their systems with a patch Microsoft released back in March.

The Malwaretech guy found a kill switch that he activated by registering a domain.  That is creative.

Don't pay the ransom!  Paying the ransom will probably not get your files back.  They have to give you the unlock code and I understand that they are not doing that even if you pay.
