purplechris
Ok so i am new, using unraid to replace my exisiting nas. Love it by the way, all dockers setup working, transferred half my data etc. I cant help thinking i should have precleared the drives, actually tempted since i still have my old setup to actually do these and start my transfer again, but really dont want to loose my dockers. Any thoughts? Link to comment
itimpi
Pre-clearing on a new array is really only required to carry out a confidence test on a drive. No real reason to do it retrospectively if you think the drive is OK. Link to comment
trurl
Be sure to setup Notifications so unRAID can notify you if there are any drive problems. Link to comment

Yes, it's imperative to give the NAS a way to report problems - quite often it's then possible to take action before a critical data loss. Link to comment
