HK-Steve
Hi Everyone. I am back for a little help with my LSI 9211-8i which is putting up errors during a parity check after installing, 4x disks are connected, they are 8Tb Seagate drives empty except for a movie folder with NO data. After 2 hrs I had over 2000 errors..... never seen this before. I have 6x WD 8Tb Red's connected to the sata ports of the motherboard, Asus Z170 Pro Gaming, they throw no errors before of after adding the LSI. 1x Parity and 5x data drives. Seagate Drives were pre-cleared 3 times, no problems or Smart errors. I bought the LSI pre-flashed to IT mode, which has FW version 20.00.00.00-IT, Boot order is 0, with no option to disable boot support. I put my Supermicro AOC-SASLP-MV8 in place of the LSI and after 3 hrs no errors. I was hoping for a speed improvement for parity check with the LSI, but the MV8 is going very nicely at over 100Mb/s ATM.. I am not familiar with the LSI but after reading the thread on flashing thought it might have been a nice speed boost, but my inexperience is showing. Any pointers would be much appreciated.
