neebski
I noticed that having a 250G and a 500G SSD wasn't actually giving me 750G, really only 250G. So I removed the 250G and thought it would auto resize (my ignorance). I was able to start and run with the existing 500G but when I attempted to move it to slot 1 for the cache configuration the UI said that if I started the array all data on the disk would be lost. Now even if I return it to its original config it says it as well. Any advice on how to get this back to normal? Otherwise it seems that I'll have to pull the drive and try to scrap the data off of it. I can't mount it on unassigned devices either, I'm assuming it has to to with btrfs. Suggestions? xpost Link to comment
JorgeB
It will only format the pool if you tell it to do it, assign both and start the array, worse that can happen is that the pool is unmountable, in that case don't format and try each SSD one at a time. If you can't get to mount use this to try and recover the data: https://lime-technology.com/forums/topic/46802-faq-for-unraid-v6/?do=findComment&comment=543490 P.S. you can use the space form both by converting the pool to single profile: https://lime-technology.com/forums/topic/46802-faq-for-unraid-v6/?do=findComment&comment=480421 Link to comment
neebski
Thank you @johnnie.black I was able to get it back online. For now I'd like to just sort out why the following is happening. I want just the 500G drive on my cache. When I try and mount it as disk 1 for the cache it gives me the formatting error. Link to comment
