Out of interest.., if I have a protected array can I just add a drive and or swap drives to another slot without triggering a parity check?

    If it's precleared, then nothing else will happen.  If it's not precleared, then unRaid will clear it before adding to the array.

    If you only have single parity then you can do a new config (check off parity is valid) and you're good.  If you have dual parity, then you have to rebuild parity.
