May 7, 20197 yr Yes, I did try that just now - in case it was that but it didn't isolate the device. I could go back and try that again with VFIO instead of with Xen-pciback - I don't care if both ports are passed through. Will try it. Also, the isolcpus is auto generated by Unraid so it should be right. I created a new thread here: Edited May 7, 20197 yr by Marshalleq
May 7, 20197 yr 6 hours ago, Marshalleq said: Hi thanks for the response - I simply added as below kernel /bzimage append isolcpus=12-15,28-31,xen-pciback.hide=(0b:00.0) initrd=/bzroot So only one port - thought I only had to do one - will try two! Remove the comma and use a space between 31 and xen-blablabla. So to check which module is loaded, you need to issue lspci -k and check the module used. Also, stubbing is just to load a dummy module for a device so the OS is not loading a real module. Limetech just added a list of stubbed devices in the VM Template under Other PCI devices.
October 19, 20205 yr I had the same problem, I wanted to use my add in card as a passthroug for a game streaming VM, and it was showing up as the same id as the mobo's card. My solution: adding xen-pciback.hide=(MY NETWORKCARD HERE) to both unraid GUI mode and the unraid section. as i was booting off the unraid GUI mode for troubleshooting. Thanks alot saarg.
